Founders

Not been able to get out fishing for a while due to work and frozen lakes, so I decided to book a day off work and do a 24 hour trip to Founders on the Lymm card.

I have only joined Lymm this year and this was my first trip out to one of their waters. Founders is a small water situated in the middle of a golf course but holds carp to the mid twenties.

When I arrived two others were already setup and fishing so I decided to fish the opposite side. I fished one rod over to the island and the other in the margins to my left.

No bites during the day but I did make a new friend who enjoyed sharing my biscuits.

After a few liners I had my first run around 10pm from the margin rod and this resulted in my first fish of the year a Mirror weighing 18lb 7oz.

Nothing else during the night, so I packed up in the morning just happy to have ended my run of blanks.

This was my first trip to Founders and I have come away with a few ideas I think will help on my next visit.

A Fish!!!

Me and Paul went out after pike again between Christmas and New Year.

I must admit to nearly staying at home when I looked out at the weather (I wish I had) anyway I'll keep it short as usual, I blanked and Paul caught one just as we was packing up.

And at last a fish! Weighing in at 8lb 12oz.

I will be attending a pike fish in at the river irwell old course with Paul and Mike on the 15th so I hope to end my bad run.

Decided to try a different venue for pike. Unfortunately with the same result. No pike.

I think today we may have just crossed that fine line.

The weather was against us and after five hours of rain and hailstone we decided the pub just along the bank looked a better option.

Pike

Well this is my first post in what could possibly turn out to be the worst fishing blog on the net.

Went piking and blanked :(

Paul caught a small jack of about 2lb.

We do intend on giving this water another go at some point.
